To know the knowledge, attitude and practice of family medicine among the families registered to the department of family medicine, Severance Hospital, a questionaire survey was conducted with the 400 families which were randomly selected. Among 400 families, 173 responded the questionaire. The results of this survey were as follows:
1. Among 173, male population was 71.1% and female population was 28.3% respectively.
2. Four member families was 38.7% and five member families was 25.4% respectively
3. The motives to reqister to the family medicine department showed that 38.2% was for the reqular physical examination and counseling and 34.6% was for the necessity of the family physician.
4. On the medical institution utilized primarily, the family medicine department in the Severance hospital was 44.0%.
5. 71.1% was satisfied with the medical service which was given by the family medicine department.
6. When they decide to get other specialty care, 85.4% followed family physician's order.
