Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the status received periodic health examination, to know the perception about family medicine, and to plan out health care program.
The sample was taken from about 560 outpatients on Dae Rim St. Mary's hospital for 1 year.
1. Among 560 persons, 248 persons were male, 311 persons were female. 23(4.1%) persons were below 20 years of age 231(41.3%) persons were from age 20 to 29, 170(30.4%) persons were from 30 to 39, 86(15.4%) persons were from age 40 to 49, 40(7.1%) persons were from age 50 to 59, and 9(1.6%) persons were above 60 years old.
2. The rate of respondents who have the idea of necessity of Family Medicine was 67.3% from age old 30 to 39 years old group 83.3% from age 20 to 29 years old group.
3. The rate of respondents who have taken periodic health examination was 42.1% from age 50 to 59 years old age group, 29.3% in 40 to 49 years old age group.
4. In health maintenance, health food & medication was 44.4% in over 60 years old age group, in 40 to 49 years old age group, and diet control was 32.0% in 40 to 49 years old age group health examination was 18.5%.
5. Among those who have taken health examination, those who know Family Medicine was 56% & practice about Family Medicine was 94.1% in 50 to 59 years old age group, 93.4% in 30 to 39 years old age group those who have taken health examination was 42.1% in 50 to 59 years old age group, 29.3% in 40 to 49 years old age group.
