Abstract

The Family Medicine has been introduced as a primary health care in Korea since 1978.
Then Family Medicine become essential part in health delivery system in Korea. However the author thought the basic study can be accmulated for the further development of Family Medicine. In this study, the author tried to evaluate the awareness, the necessity and the participation of Family Medicine as a health care system in Korea.
Sample was taken from the community of Guro Ku and Guro Hosp., Banwol and Banwol Hosp., Ryeoju and ryeoju Hosp..
The results are as follow.
1. 65.6% of total 250 answers aware Family Medicine
2. 79.2% of total 250 answers thought Family Medicine is necessary for health delivery system in community.
3. 52.4% of total 250 answered they are interested in participating Family Practice when it is a available.
