고혈압에 대한 인식도 조사 (A Study of the Knowledge and the Concept Regarding Hypertension Among the Ambulatory Patients Visitin the Family Practice Center)

Abstract
In order to investigate the general knowledge and the concept regarding hypertension, a study was carried out through direct questionnaire to ambulatory patients visiting the Department of Family Medicine in Seoul National University Hospital and Yoncheon Health Center Hospital from 24th of July to 19th of August, 1989. The number of the total respondants was 333. The results were as follows :
1) The respondants with the mis-concept regarding hypertension as a "symptomatic" disease were 266(79.9%) of the total 333, and the analysis of them revealed no significant differences among the areas, the levels of education, sex and the existence of hypertension.
2) Those who had the right concept regarding hypertension as a "life-ling controlled disease" were 83(24.6%) of the total 333, and the analysis of them revealed no significant differences among the areas, the levels of education, but revealed a significant difference between hypertensive patients and non-hypertensive patients(p<0.01).
3) Patients of the thirties and forties showed less understandings about the items of "Symptomatic disease" and "Life-ling controlled disease" than the other age groups with a significant difference(p<0.05).
