응급실 내원 환자의 분석 (A Survey on the Patients who Visited Emerency oom)

Abstract

To obtain basic data for family physicians who would like to open private clinic at a rural area, the 4,483 patients who visited Hoeng Sung Daesung hospital from August 1, 1988 to July 31, 1989. were analyzed.
The results were analysed as follows ;
1. Among the total 4,483 patients, the sex ratio of man to woman was 1.4:1 and the age distribution of patients is as follows ; 0-9 year group was 23.9% of the total. 20-29 year group was 18.7% 30-39 year group was 16.8% in order.
2. The seasonal distribution of the patients who visited emergency room was summer (30.1%), Spring(27.4%), Autumn(23.8%) and winter(18.6%) in order.
3. 23.0% of patients visited emergency room on Sunday the most and 9.7% of patients visited on thursday the least.
4. Concerning medical insuranace, 65.7% of patients was on general medical insurance, 28.2% of patients was on non-insurance, 3.6% of patients was on medical protection and 0.4% was on industrial accident medical insurance.
5. Distribution by symptoms in decreasing order of frequency was trauma(68.1%), coughing and rhinorrhea(11.5%), out-patient-level procedure(11.5%), vomiting and diarrhea(6.7%), sore throat(6.2%), abdomenal pain(4.8%), itching and urticaria(4.7%), musculoskeletal pain(3.3%), headache(2.5%), fever and chill(2.1%).
6. Distribution by diagnosis in decreasing order of frequency was musculoskeletal system diseases(31.4%), respiratory system diseases of sk in in and subcutaneous tissus(7.8%), circulatory system diseases(5.0%), nervous system diseases(2.9%), urologic system diseases(1.9%).
7. In management of pateints, 81% of patients was returned home immediately after treatment, 7.6% was transferred to other hospitals, 0.4% was dead on arrival and 0.1% of patients died during treatment procedure.
